Everything GREAT About Greenland!

Greenland! The other 2020 disaster movie. Something I didn't even realize I was doing until it was too late to turn back! But it's not the schlocky movie you were probably expecting, so let's talk about it! Here's everything right with Greenland!

The one thing I like about Greenland is its the most realistic scenario of what would happen if a asteroid or comet hit the earth. I'm sure there's shelters for this time to come and thats all we can.. brace for impact! We can't blow it up like in other movies. How this movie ended is exactly how it would really happen.

14:05 Ofc. they do. Remember : US had issiues with that, EU? Asia? Those Bunkers there where UNITED NATION BUILD not US BUILD, so ofc. proper people and HUMANS AT THAT decide to "Open the Doors" once more. If there is ONE THING i belive in, its that when impending doom comes, we rediscover our humanity. If you sacrifice those old and ill, your not worth saving yourself. 2012 did the best job at that thou, there where like at least 10k people there and among those saying "Open the Doors" was EU's lead Angela Merkel (Yes i know they changed her in the movie, but could actualy used her instead if they just DARED to ask) with macron, then ofc. Asia as well and Russia too. Thus the US did the same to not seem like total aholes. Especiel when you have weeks to prepare you WILL add medicin for anything , PLENTY OF THAT as diabetes can hit ANYTIME and ANYONE.

one situation is a big ball of fire visible in the sky with lots of mini fire balls raining down and the world essentially going shit. The other is a lot more complicated situation were the companies responsible for producing the Hollywood ending savior solution basically all have criminal records for killing and maiming and improperly testing their solutions. And we also have the 'authorities telling people one thing and the doing an about face turn without it being really that clear what 'science' has changed (i'm looking at you masks & lab leak theory amongst others) Given such situations is perhaps not surprising that some people aren't quite sure which movie script they should be buying - and a lack of complete confidence at the 'being told what to do' will be limited to the emergency situation only and won't be quietly enforced as. a societal norm.

This was one of the worst, over the top movies I have watched. The scenarios faced are so stupid and ridiculous they are completely unbelievable. Ok i loved this movie. It is one of the best disaster movies of the last few years. However, as much as I hate to admit, the survivors are all going to die within a few months. Food will run out and they have no way to get away from their base. No boats or planes look to be left so what are they going to do? I like to believe that someone did survive and the ending is their last hallucination before they pass away. A downer but probably what would happen.

14:00 I imagine that so few unauthorized planes have even made it this far, and the bunkers are probably under-capacity, so the local soldiers who probably aren't even receiving orders from the mainland anymore are like "F*ck it, they made it this far, they deserve to be let in."

Easily one of the best movies in recent years and hands down best "end of the world" movie I have ever seen. Crazy destruction like in 2012 is super fun but this shit had humanity and a level of immersion and realism I haven't seen in any other apocalypse movie. You literally go through the emotions the characters go through, you feel the distress, the panic, the relief, and you actually give a shit about the family unlike in most of these kinds of movies. And that says a lot bc I almost neeever feel real empathy towards movie characters, I'm always still in my room and watching a movie, but w this one I was there, my palms were actually sweating, I was holding my breath etc. And with all that tension building up the moments of relief were so powerful. Particularly that scene with the nurse who gives them the meds and gets them a bus just hit different

  • Haiken HowTo

In the end, you are left with the feeling that it would have been better to just die. The kid is dead for sure. He only has about a week to a week and a half of insulin left. Do we really think they have a large supply of insulin at that base? Nope. And insulin has to be refrigerated, which requires a constant source of electricity. The reasons why he was rejected. Other health conditions would also disqualify those that were selected improperly. And good luck trying to travel anywhere. Even if there are planes in the bunker, there is only a finite amount of jet fuel left on Earth. And there are no support mechanisms in place; no infrastructure left - power plants, water treatment plants, internet - all gone. And what do you do about food? Remember, there is residual radiation in the atmosphere and the top soil. Short wave radio won't help anyone in this post apocalyptic era. And they are in Greenland, which makes things a thousand times worse because they are geographically separated from civilization, or what's left of it. Just a few thousand people looking out of a bunker at a desolate landscape. Good luck with that. What's that saying... "It's better to burn out than to fade away". That about sums it up. Those who died from the comet's impacting fragments were the lucky ones.

And you called the pilot Bill Tench...I also see your Mindhunter reference. Great show! Probably #3 on my favorite Netflix shows list...if I was to make one...yeesh... And yes, comeuppance for that giant douche that wanted the wristband on the truck. I didn't feel bad at all and, honestly, I probably would've spit on him afterwards. That's just me. Don't @ me. I really enjoyed watching this movie but, at the end of the day, all it did was reinforce my nihilistic worldview. If they were to make a sequel it would be about humanity rebuilding afterwards, obviously, and it would involve people that are greedy for power or greedy for whatever, because the heart of humanity never really changes, at least not in any way that is significant. I totally believe that at the end of the day...we're all screwed anyways. Unless Batman and/or Jack Bauer are involved, then there's hope. Great video. I appreciate your insight and the amount of research you undertake for each video. Keep up the good work.
